Endeavors is honored that this year, San Antonio high school student Ryan Matson is hiking the Camino de Santiago to raise money for the people we serve here in Texas. Please consider supporting his journey, and our mission, to help vulnerable people in need.
Ryan will be a senior at Great Hearts Northern Oaks Academy this fall, where he serves as a mentor and service club officer. He is a six time letterman in baseball and basketball. He has always had a desire to serve in the military. His Eagle scout project was a KIA memorial in Shavano Park in 2021. He is vlogging his walk of the Camino de Santiago to bring awareness to PTSD and programs provided by Endeavors that provide critical help to veterans. He is the son of Morgan and Meghan Matson.
The Camino de Santiago, also known as the Way of St. James, is a renowned pilgrimage of medieval origin where people of all backgrounds journey to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in the northwest of Spain. People from all over the world hike the Camino each year for spiritual reasons, adventure, and community.
